Artist Collaboration

Maaya Wakasugi is a Japanese calligrapher and contemporary artist whose work explores the relationship between movement, time, and human emotion.

Blending the tradition of Japanese calligraphy with a contemporary artistic language, his works express moments that can never be repeated. Each brushstroke captures a unique dialogue between ink, space, and the passage of time.

 

Selected Biography

2014- Live performance at The Museum of Modern Art(MOMA), New York

2018- Calligraphy performance at the World Economic Forum in Davos for Japan night

2022- Collaboration with UNIQLO, Paris, followed by a tote bag collection launched across Europe

2024- Selected for Art in Resonance with Maaya Wakasugi at The Peninsula Tokyo

2025- Created the title calligraphy for The Ninth Jedi in Lucasfilm's Star Wars: Visions
